About Me
Hello, I'm Riley Trapp, a Play-by-Play broadcaster and University of Missouri Alumnus. At the Missouri School of Journalism, I joined KCOU 88.1 FM–the student voice of the Missouri Tigers–where I provided PxP coverage of SEC athletics across multiple sports. This role allowed me to call several AP Top 25 matchups and travel the country to some of college sports' most iconic venues, including Rupp Arena in Lexington and Thompson-Boling Arena in Knoxville.
Outside of broadcasting, I gained hands-on newsroom experience as a producer and reporter for KOMU 8 News in Columbia [See Here]. Additionally, I completed a drone journalism course and earned my FAA Part 107-B certification as a licensed Commercial Drone Pilot. I joined the Mizzou Digital Marketing Club and the Iota Mu chapter of Theta Chi Fraternity. In both, I stepped into leadership roles. As the Treasurer of the MDMC, I helped our team travel to Baylor University twice to compete in the National Collegiate Digital Marketing Championships.
In 2024, I joined the Martinsville Mustangs in the prestigious Coastal Plain League as the team’s Broadcaster and Media Relations Coordinator. Throughout two seasons, I was on the air for 95 games, both at home on FloSports and on the road via Mustangs Radio. I was honored as the CPL's 2024 Broadcaster of the Year–the first time a Mustang broadcaster received this recognition [See Here]. During my second season, I advanced into the role of Broadcast Director and led our crew en route to the CPL's 2025 Broadcast Stream of the Year [See Here].

During my college years, I served as a Broadcaster and Media Relations assistant for the Burlington Bees of the Prospect League. Alongside my broadcast partner, Kyle Schmidt, I called over 50 games during the 2023 season. In collaboration with management, we implemented the first radio-broadcasting system for road games since the team's transition out of the Midwest League (High A).
When I’m not on the mic, I am usually cheering on my favorite teams, the Green Bay Packers, Milwaukee Bucks, and the Missouri Tigers. Despite being born and raised in the suburbs of Chicago, my family's Wisconsin roots swayed my fandom to the other side of the border. Thank you for visiting my website!
