About Me
Hello, I'm Riley Trapp, a Play-by-Play broadcaster and University of Missouri Alumnus. At the Missouri School of Journalism, I joined KCOU 88.1 FM–the student voice of the Missouri Tigers–where I provided PxP coverage of SEC athletics across multiple sports. This role allowed me to call several AP Top 25 matchups and travel the country to some of college sports' most iconic venues, including Rupp Arena in Lexington and Thompson-Boling Arena in Knoxville.
Outside of broadcasting, I gained hands-on newsroom experience as a producer and reporter for KOMU 8 News in Columbia [See Here]. Additionally, I completed a drone journalism course and earned my FAA Part 107-B certification as a licensed Commercial Drone Pilot. I joined the Mizzou Digital Marketing Club and the Iota Mu chapter of Theta Chi Fraternity. In both, I stepped into leadership roles. As the Treasurer of the MDMC, I helped our team travel to Baylor University twice to compete in the National Collegiate Digital Marketing Championships.
With Richmond, I learned the ins and outs of professional baseball. I was lucky enough to be a small piece of MiLB's 2026 Organization of the Year. I developed in areas outside of broadcasting, such as press release and feature story writing, working with local and regional media, press credentialing, media guide and game note creation and distribution, and social media strategy.
During my college years, I served as a Broadcaster & Media Relations assistant for the Burlington Bees of the Prospect League, and as the Broadcast Director & Media Relations Coordinator for the Martinsville Mustangs of the Coastal Plain League. With Martinsville, I was honored as the CPL's 2024 Broadcaster of the Year [See Here] and led our crew en route to the CPL's 2025 Broadcast Stream of the Year [See Here]. Following graduation, I joined the Richmond Flying Squirrels (Double-A, San Francisco Giants) as a Communications & Broadcast Associate.
